The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance test conducted in india also JEE is the main gateway for admission into top engineering colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs, which are known for excellent education, infrastructure, and placements.

There are two stages of JEE:

JEE Main

  • Conducted by: One of the IITs (on a rotating basis)
  • Only the top ~2.5 lakh rankers of JEE Main can appear
  • For admission to: IITs

JEE Advanced

  • Conducted by: One of the IITs (on a rotating basis)
  • Only the top ~2.5 lakh rankers of JEE Main can appear
  • For admission to: IITs

JEE is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted for admission to B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch courses in India.

JEE is divided into JEE Main and JEE Advanced, where JEE Advanced is for admission to IITs.

JEE Main is conducted by NTA, while JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis.

 

Candidates must have passed or appeared in 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.

JEE Main is usually held twice a year – in January and April.

 

The syllabus includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from NCERT Class 11 and 12.

JEE Main consists of 90 questions (75 to be attempted) and is held in computer-based mode.

Each correct answer gives +4 marks and each wrong answer deducts 1 mark.

There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main.
